Nova Sedlica (Open-air museum Humenne)
The Church of Archangel Michael was built about 1794 and moved
in 1977 to the
Outdoor Folk Architecture exhibit (Skanzen) at the Vihorlat Museum in Humenne.
It is a typical representation of the Lemko variant of the Rusyn-Ukraininan
three-space church. The three spaces include the Sanctuary (altar), Nave and
Babinec (Women’s room). The three-part design of the space is
emphasized with three towers. The shingle roof is characteristic with exuberant
horizontally articulated parts.
The Baroque iconostasis is from the 18th century. The Icon of St. Michale of
Deesis is from the 17th century. The bell tower dates from 1811.
