Historia-popis / History-Description:
Zvaz muzei na Slovensku (ZMS) oficialne vznikol v roku 1990 a posobi ako
zaujmove profesijne zdruzenie muzei v Slovenskej republike. ZMS je samostatnou
pravnickou osobou a jeho sidlom je Banska Bystrica.
Poslanim ZMS je presadzovat a rozvijat zaujmy muzei, koordinovat cinnost muzei,
podporovat muzejnictvo na Slovensku.
Cinnost, clenstvo, organizacnu strukturu, hospodarenie a ostatne zalezitosti ZMS
su upravene stanovami.

The Union of Museums in Slovakia (UMS) was established in 1990 and
it has been acted as the association networking the museums in the Slovak
Republic. This independent legal entity is settled in the city Banska Bystrica.
The main mission of the Union is to pursue the interests of museums, to
coordinate their activities and to support and develop the Slovak museums.
Activity, membership, organization structure, management and other affairs of
the Union are set out by the statut.
